Are you bored of old tiles on your bathroom floor? If yes, then you need to replace them with new stylish tiles. You have numerous choices for selecting your new stylish tiles as different types of tiles are available in market. It is not very tricky process, a person having required knowledge of using the tools can do this replacement. Mostly used tiles are- glass tiles (used for floor purpose) and ceramic tiles.

Tools used in this process are- cutters, tile nippers, grout, a large sponge, grout spacers, and a notched trowel. However, for sheet tiles grout spacers are not required and they can be easily installed because they have ready to install mosaics.

Before starting the process you need to remove old tiles from your bathroom floor. It is little cumbersome to do. Once you have removed old layer, properly clean the surface so that it becomes smooth and ready for next layer. Use grease cleaners for removing extra grease from the surface.

Measure the space properly before ordering tiles. Always order extra tiles than required because you can do mistake in calculation or some of the tiles may break during replacement process. It may become difficult for you to get same color of tiles again in future as tiles come in dye lots and there can be obvious differences between two same shades of tiles from different lots.

All the molds and fixtures like toilet, sinks are required to be removed from the surface. Take a subfloor (green board or cement board), fix it on the floor and remember that the floor should be leveled.

Actual work begins now. Start fixing the tiles by the side of longest wall. After fixing tiles, tap with a rubber mallet so that the tiles set well on the floor. For keeping even space between tiles, use grout spacer. You can cut the tiles with tile cutter to fix them at narrow spaces like for small space left near tub, toilet etc.

Now leave the tiles to set properly for 24 hours. After 24 hours, fill the space between tiles by grout using a trowel. Clean off extra grout by a wet sponge and run a damp mop. After this you need to leave your bathroom unused for around a week.

After a week your bathroom floor is perfectly ready to be used, you just need to put all the fixtures at their place. If some tiles are left, you should keep them for future use. You can now enjoy the new bathroom floor.
